Emma and her brother Jake loved exploring the woods behind their house. One Saturday morning, they discovered something they had never seen beforeβa dark opening in the side of the hill. It was a cave!
"Should we go in?" Jake asked nervously. Emma pulled out her flashlight and smiled. "We came prepared for an adventure, didn't we?" She turned on her flashlight and carefully stepped inside.
The cave was cool and damp. Water dripped from the ceiling, making soft splashing sounds. Their flashlight beams danced across the rocky walls, revealing sparkling crystals embedded in the stone. "Look at those!" Emma gasped. The crystals looked like tiny stars frozen in the rock.
As they ventured deeper, Jake noticed something unusual. "Emma, there are marks on the wall." They looked closer and saw old drawingsβpictures of animals and people. "These must be really old," Emma whispered. "Maybe people lived here a long time ago."
The children decided they had explored enough for one day. They carefully made their way back to the entrance, excited to tell their parents about their discovery. Tomorrow, they would come back with their dad's camera to take pictures of the ancient drawings.
