The Magic Garden

A Fantasy Story

Emma had always loved her grandmother's garden, but today something was different. The roses were glowing with a soft pink light, and the sunflowers were taller than the house. Even the butterflies seemed to sparkle as they danced between the flowers.

15

"Grandma, what's happening to your garden?" Emma asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

22

Her grandmother smiled mysteriously. "Every hundred years, my garden becomes magical for one day. The flowers can talk, the vegetables sing, and if you're very kind, they might grant you one wish."

35

Emma couldn't believe her ears. She walked carefully through the garden, listening. Sure enough, she could hear the roses whispering secrets and the carrots humming a cheerful tune. A wise old oak tree at the garden's edge spoke to her in a deep, rumbling voice.

52

"Young one," the oak said, "I have watched this garden for many magical days. What wish would you make if you could have anything in the world?"

65

Emma thought carefully. She could wish for toys, or candy, or even to fly. But then she looked at her grandmother, who was gently tending to the magical flowers with such love and care.

78

"I wish," Emma said slowly, "that my grandmother could always feel as happy as she does right now, surrounded by her beautiful garden."

90

The oak tree's branches rustled with approval. "That is a truly selfless wish," it said. "Your grandmother's joy will last forever, and so will the magic of this garden in your heart."

As the sun set, the garden returned to normal, but Emma knew that the real magic wasn't in the glowing flowers or talking trees. The real magic was in the love she shared with her grandmother.
