3rd Grade
Weekly Update, Families!
Hello Barracuda Families! Next week, students will take the Progress Monitoring I (PM1) FAST Reading Assessment on Wednesday. Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep the night before, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time so they are ready for testing.
Most importantly, please encourage your child to take their time, try their best, and show what they know!
We will also have our annual ACT Now presentation on Monday. All students were sent home with an opt-out form. If you would not like your child to participate in/view the presentation, please complete the form and send it back to school with your child.
Lastly, RAMS is accepting donations to support Colombia following the recent earthquake. Please check out the image below for more information on how you can help.

- Math Test: We will review for and take our first math assessment on place value and rounding on Tuesday.
- After the assessment, we will begin multiplication
- Math Homework: This week's math homework is STAR, assigned by the teacher.

- Compare materials and objects based on properties such as mass, hardness, and texture
Reading, Writing & Social Studies
Reading
- Make inferences and explore point of view
- Identify text and graphic features and determine theme
- Use context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words

- Practice the cursive letters q and o
Grammar
- Learn how to identify and create compound sentences
Social Studies
- Learn how to use and read maps to identify where communities are located, and continue comparing rural, suburban, and urban communities
